1. Acceptance of this Agreement

This User Agreement ("Agreement") is a binding contract between you and Tarraki governing your access to and use of the Tarraki website at tarraki.in, mobile apps, messaging, calls, communities, career tools, marketplaces, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, verifying your identity (for example by email OTP), and selecting “I agree”, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted this Agreement and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

Tarraki Local is an optional directory experience on the same account. Activating Local requires separate Local terms in addition to this Agreement.

2. Eligibility and age

You must provide an accurate date of birth. Account features depend on age:

• Under 13: a restricted “student” account may be created for learning surfaces (such as Career Atlas and read-only browse of certain content). Social networking, messaging, jobs applications, Local, and similar interactive features are not available.
• 13 and older: a standard account may use the professional network features enabled for your account, subject to this Agreement.
• Under 18: you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed this Agreement and consents to your use of the Service.

3. Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

One person should maintain one primary account. You may not sell, transfer, or share your account. Impersonating another person or organisation is not allowed.

Your username and public profile URL are allocated by Tarraki and may be reclaimed if inactive, misleading, or abusive. Your private ID is an anonymity handle assigned from our pool and is not transferable.

You may temporarily deactivate or permanently delete your account from Settings, subject to retention needed for security, disputes, and legal compliance as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Professional network purpose

Tarraki is India’s practical network. The Service is intended for career growth, learning, hiring, organisation pages, professional networking, freelance and offering listings, communities, events, and related collaboration.

You agree to use Tarraki in good faith as a professional community — not as a vehicle for harassment, spam, scams, or unrelated commercial abuse.

5. Your content and licence

You retain ownership of content you post (including text, images, comments, polls, articles, recommendations, resumes, listings, proposals, and messages). By posting, you grant Tarraki a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and create technical copies of that content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

You are solely responsible for your content. You confirm you have the rights to share it and that it does not infringe others’ rights or break the law.

We may remove, restrict, or refuse to display content that violates this Agreement, our policies, or legal requirements, including under applicable Indian intermediary and information-technology rules.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:

• Posting illegal, defamatory, hateful, obscene, or sexually exploitative material
• Harassment, threats, doxxing, or discrimination
• Spam, phishing, malware, or deceptive schemes
• Scraping, crawling, or harvesting data without written permission
• Attempting to access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorised to use
• Circumventing rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions
• Using bots or automation to inflate engagement, connections, or applications in a deceptive way
• Misrepresenting your identity, credentials, employment, skills, or affiliation

7. Connections, messaging, and calls

Connection requests, direct messages, and voice or video calls are provided to help professionals communicate. Respect others’ privacy and preferences.

Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, coercive outreach, or unwanted calls. Recipients may block, report, or ignore you. We may limit messaging or calling features to reduce abuse.

Call quality and availability depend on your device, network, and third-party infrastructure; Tarraki does not guarantee uninterrupted calling or recording of calls.

8. Jobs, organisations, projects, offerings, and events

Job listings, organisation pages, applications, endorsements, recommendations, project briefs, proposals, offerings (products or services), and events are user- or employer-generated. Tarraki does not guarantee the accuracy of job offers, compensation, budgets, prices, organisation information, or event details.

Tarraki is a venue for discovery and communication. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, Tarraki does not employ you, hire candidates on your behalf, escrow funds, process payments between users, or become a party to any employment, freelance, sale, or service contract formed through the Service. Users settle terms, payments, delivery, and disputes directly with each other.

Employers and applicants remain responsible for complying with applicable employment and anti-discrimination laws. Sellers and buyers of offerings, and clients and freelancers on projects, remain responsible for their own contracts, taxes, and consumer or labour obligations.

Event RSVPs (for example “going” or “interested”) are not tickets and do not create a paid booking. Hosts are responsible for venue safety, cancellations, and any meeting links they share. Tarraki is not responsible for in-person or online gatherings arranged through the Service.

9. Fees and future paid features

Access to core Tarraki features is currently free. We may introduce paid products, promotions, or fees later. If we do, we will describe the charges and obtain any required acceptance before billing you. Amounts already paid (if any) may be used only as stated at purchase; refunds follow any published policy for that product.

10. Moderation and enforcement

We may investigate reports, review content, and take action we reasonably believe is appropriate — including removing content, limiting features, suspending, or terminating accounts.

You may report abuse through in-product tools. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent removal without prior notice where necessary to protect users or comply with law.

11. Tarraki intellectual property

The Tarraki name, logo, design system, software, Career Atlas materials we publish, and documentation are owned by Tarraki or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them except as expressly allowed.

Feedback you submit may be used by Tarraki without obligation to you.

12. Privacy

We process personal data to provide the Service (account details, profile information, content, connections, messages metadata, device and security logs, location or PIN code you provide, and similar data needed for a professional network).

By using Tarraki you consent to this processing as described in this Agreement and our Privacy Policy at tarraki.in/privacy. You can manage certain visibility settings in the app; legal and safety needs may still require limited processing.

13. Third-party services

The Service may integrate email or SMS delivery, captcha, hosting, object storage, analytics, push notifications, TURN/STUN for calls, OAuth providers (such as Google, LinkedIn, or Apple), or media providers. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their processing. Tarraki is not responsible for third-party websites linked from user content.

If you enable SMS OTP or social sign-in, you consent to receiving verification messages and to sharing the profile data those providers return to complete login, subject to your settings with those providers.

14. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TARRAKI DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content from other users is accurate or trustworthy. Career Atlas and similar educational materials are informational and may be incomplete; they are not professional, legal, or career advice.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tarraki and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of the Service — including interactions, contracts, payments, or meetings arranged with other users.

Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) INR 5,000.

Nothing in this Agreement limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tarraki and its operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your dealings with other users, or your breach of this Agreement.

17. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Tarraki at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate this Agreement, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service (or a part of it, including Tarraki Local).

Upon termination, licences you granted for operating the Service may continue for a reasonable period for backup, legal, and safety purposes. Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will survive.

18. Changes to this Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date (and version) on this page. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

19. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of India. Courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from this Agreement, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
