1. Who we are

Tarraki ("we", "us") operates the Tarraki professional network at tarraki.in, Tarraki Local, and related mobile apps (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.

This Policy works together with our User Agreement and, when you activate Local, the Tarraki Local terms. If you have questions, contact us through the in-app help channels or the contact details listed on tarraki.in.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide and information generated when you use the Service.

• Account data: email (or a synthetic Local email when you join with mobile only), username, private ID, password (hashed), name, date of birth, and mobile number
• Profile data: headline, about, location, photo, work preferences, and similar fields you choose to share
• Tarraki Local data (if activated): Local display name, public mobile toggle, PIN/area, trades/skills, languages, work photos, and social links you add
• Network content: posts, comments, reactions, polls, articles, messages, community and organization content you create or send
• Career and marketplace activity: jobs, applications, projects, proposals, events, offerings, Local requirements, and related metadata
• Device and security data: IP address, user agent, session tokens, and auth/security event logs
• Optional push tokens when you enable notifications on a device
• Usage signals needed to operate the Service (for example notification preferences and content visibility settings)

3. How we use information

We process personal data to provide and improve a professional network and optional Local directory, including:

• Creating and securing your account, verifying email or mobile signup, and enforcing the User Agreement and Local terms
• Showing your profile and content according to your visibility and messaging settings
• Enabling connections, messaging, communities, jobs, projects, events, Local search, and related features
• Sending product emails or SMS (verification, security, and notifications you enable)
• Detecting abuse, spam, fraud, and security incidents
• Complying with law and responding to lawful requests

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run the Service:

• Other members, according to your privacy settings and the content you publish or send (including a public Local mobile number if you enable it)
• Service providers (for example hosting, email or SMS delivery, captcha, media storage, and analytics) under contractual obligations
• Authorities when required by law or to protect users, Tarraki, or the public from harm

5. Retention

We keep account and content data while your account is active. If you permanently delete your account, we remove or anonymise personal data associated with it, except limited records we must retain for security, dispute, or legal compliance (for example fraud logs).

You can permanently delete your account from Settings (web or Android). Deletion requires confirming your username.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can:

• Edit profile and privacy preferences in Settings
• Control Local mobile visibility and Local profile fields
• Control notification preferences
• Report content or block other members where those tools are available
• Delete your account permanently
• Contact us to exercise applicable legal rights

7. Children

Accounts for people under 13 are restricted “student” accounts used for learning surfaces; social networking and Tarraki Local are not available. Full professional-network and Local features are intended for older users as described in the User Agreement and Local terms.

If you believe we have collected data from a child in a way that does not match these rules, contact us so we can correct or delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as hashed passwords, session controls, and transport encryption (HTTPS) for production traffic. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and keep your devices protected.

9. International processing

Tarraki is built for India. Infrastructure or vendors may process data in other countries. Where we do so, we take steps appropriate to the nature of the transfer and applicable law.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where additional consent is required by law.
